In January 2026, Heron Energy successfully received planning approval from Derry City & Strabane District Council for the development of a 17MW Battery Energy Storage Facility (BESS) located approximately 64 meters southwest of 18 Balliniska Road and 80 meters southeast of Seagate Technology, within the Springtown Industrial Estate, Derry/Londonderry.
This innovative facility is designed to enhance renewable energy storage and grid stability, aligning with Northern Ireland’s sustainable energy goals.

- Switch and Control Room
- Lighting and CCTV
- Boundary Fencing and Access
- Ancillary Development Works
